You know, I feel like I give off some sort of signal that chases people away or something. My husband tells me I'm paranoid, but I always get the feeling that people can just sense that I'm off, or something is weird or different about me. I think that's why it's hard for me to make friends. It's like people who don't have eyebrows. You feel like something is wrong with them, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is.

I also think some people are more supportive than others. A lot of friends are what I call "box friends." The idea is they put you in a box. When you're in that box you behave a certain way. Perhaps you have so much money, you always do the same things together. You are exactly what they expect you to be and they expect you to stay in your box. Once you exhibit signs of behaving differently, or not having enough money to go out, or what to try something new.... well, they flake out and disappear. I hate box friends.

I have have mostly box friends in my life and it has made me very warry and untrusting of "friends." It was already hard for me to make friends and now it's worse.
