Fair point there! It was meant to be a fun, different way of looking at how people operate, but yes, like all "definitions" they can't possible fully-describe a complex human being. The point I was trying to make was, are you selfish/selfless because you have an ambition/dream, or are you selfish/selfless because you're either scared or you need to be in control.

I didn't want to blabber on too much, but I don't think you can be completely selfish or completely selfless and be happy/be successful, because ultimately they mean the same thing. Helping yourself=helping others.

Sure there are always power imbalances in everyday life, but in the grand scheme of things, if we want to keep flourishing as a race, we need to both help each other and improve ourselves.
