hey Layla. well done on achieving such a remarkable milestone
regarding the weight issue you're struggling with… i know that must feel like it's a big issue for you, it's a problem for a lot of people in recovery. i steadily gained weight for a while and eventually stopped gaining. i haven't managed to lose much yet, and that's okay
without intending in any way, whatsoever, to minimise your feelings about it, you know what? it's really not a big issue (no pun intended)
many of us gain weight coming into recovery, some more than others. and we can lose it again. maybe not all, or maybe we end up looking better than ever. that's really not the most important issue at hand
please don't allow this issue to cloud your judgement about what's really important in your life. it's way more important to remain clean & sober than to lose weight. for now, anyway. 1 year is a wonderful milestone, but it's still early days. it's not a race or a competition, just one day at a time. recovery will bless you in ways beyond your wildest dreams
