layla achieving the benchmark of one year sober is something that most ppl don't do. i hope you'll have many many more years to celebrate. sobriety is a gift. one we do have to work for but as you stated the rewards are MANY.
i know others who've gained weight in early sobriety...no more EMPTY calories. you can taper off and stabalize your weight...avoid sweets if you can. the absence of alcohol in our diet causes us to crave carbs and sweets. to counter balance this fresh fruits will help.
