Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) may be the same as partial hospitalization programs or different depending on facility.
Partial hospitalization is geared towards patients coming out of hospital or as a alternative to hospitalization. IOPs may allow that population, but they often allow those that do not meet that criteria. They may be working, in fact I know a program that requires that. Sometimes partials allow intake continuously, and IOPs often have a specific intake date.
