I would talk to your doctors first, see what they advise; if they are not behind you 100% it will be hard, if not impossible. I would read all I could on the programs and find those I might want to apply for, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) if I have enough work experience, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) if I'm disabled but do not have enough work experience, Medicaid if I am just looking for insurance but may not qualify for SSI.
