I have found Klonopin more effective than Ativan, although that, too, loses effectiveness over time. But it is worth a try. I have also found treadmill helpful. I believe that it is the increase in HR that alleviates anxiety for me. But for me, anxiety is primarily not because I am "anxious ABOUT something" - it is an irrational bodily sensation, often centered in the chest, sometimes with some nausea in the throat, sometimes with weakness under the kneecaps - you get the idea. And there is no rationale behind it. It is just a very unpleasant bodily sensation that I wish I could do without. I also tend to get it closer to the evening. If I get it real late, say at 8PM, the best course of action for me is to fall asleep. I did it yesterday, I have had 8 hours of sleep, although with breaks, and I feel great this morning. So here are some ideas.
