I would go see a p-doc, for several visits, and try to obtain a diagnosis. I do not think it is moodiness - I agree with Anika that is sounds like psychosis. Well, I did not put it right - it CAN be moodiness coupled with psychosis (schizoaffective disorder or even Bipolar I with psychotic features), but it can also be schizophrenia. The drug treatment would probably be the same. Since you are saying that you have had Bipolar for a while, I assume that schizophrenia has been ruled out? But it might be starting, later than Bipolar itself. At any rate, I do not think a GP would be qualified to deal with all these problems.
The drug I take is Geodon and in the few years I have taken it, I have hallucinated only once and very briefly and after a horrible situational difficulty. No hallucinations out of the blue. It has an unusual sexual side effect, but because it is unusual, I am comfortable recommending it for you to try.
