This sounds distressing for you, psychosis is what immediately comes to mind, I know the feeling especially how consuming it can become. I don't think researching aliens is helping you break out of the cycle (although if I was in a similar situation to you, I would jump on the net too I guess).
I imagine you will be put on some antipsychotics or something along that line.
