Im sorry your friend has to go through this and you have to sit by and watch her go through this...if you are in America thats all you can do....sit and wait it out. you see here in America the laws says the only way other people outside of the patient and treatment providers can do anything is if the patient has been court declared "insane" "incompetent" "not able to make their own decisions. then if this happens the American courts appoint a "guardian"/ "Conservator" / "representative, who then over sees that mentally ill persons rights like treatment options. Unless the courts have appointed you to be this persons guardian or conservator or representative you cant do a thing, you must wait this out and leave your friends treatment up to her treatment providers and herself.

that said it sometimes takes trying many meds and many dosages to find the right one or mixture of meds that will work right for people who have mental illness. with my bipolar it took no less than 8 medication combo's before arriving at one combo that worked the way my treatment provider and I wanted it to, then after a while it stopped working so we were right back to the trial and error process of finding the right one again.

like I said if in America All you can do is sit back be there for your friend when she wants to visit with you and leave the treatment plans up to her and her treatment providers. unfortunately t hat it.
