Thank you for listing off a bunch of interesting options, fish! I think a big factor in fully healing the self is doing it on all levels. A mixture of different approaches in order to mend the problem on the physical, mental, & spiritual level.

Yoga has been wonderful for my arthritis AND to keep me distracted long enough to not notice the ruminations/delusions on my mind... The more active my body is, the quieter my mind. Which is a good reason why cleaning works so well! Hahah the issue is working up the motivation to do so.

Meditation is an issue for me sometimes... I meditated every single day, for at least half an hour (up to 2 hours) from age 13 to 18. It was wonderful & it made me feel so much more clear-headed mentally. Gave me a broadened outlook. But maybe too broad? I know it sounds silly, but I think my consistent looking inward & my jadedness with the idea of a simplistic physical reality contributes significantly to my separation from the world everyone else sees.

But if anyone can manage to use this to their benefit, possibly to find solace in the fact that your reality isn't so scary? I'd recommend it 110%.

I'd also like to suggest diet as a good way to at least tone down the severity... During HUGE psychotic breaks, I don't do any better, but my daily "not in an episode" psychosis has decreased quite a lot after cutting dairy out of my diet & replacing more of my carbohydrates/gluten sources with healthy fats. It's not a heal-all but it works enough that I could advocate it for people. Not to mention, a greater % of schizophrenic patients have milk/gluten allergies or sensitivities compared to the regular population. It's worth checking out, at the very least, if someone hasn't.

My grandfather & grandmother both do acupuncture. Him for his migraines, seizures, & Multiple Sclerosis. Her for depression (at least I think that's what she told me). They both swear by it, after being wrung out financially & mentally by western medicine. They DO go an expensive route by seeing a certified naturopathic doctor, though, that gives them assistance in adopting a better lifestyle VS. just sticking you with needles.

I used to want to be an acupuncturist/TCM doctor before I decided on neuroscience... And I hope maybe to still look into somehow proving its efficacy through western methods of measurement. So if anyone wants me to dig up any of the articles I used to read on it, I'd be more than happy.

WOW, sorry this was so long! Lol
