Wow, medkev, you are very good at dream interpretation. Quite impressed!
When the act of remembering a dream seems out-of-the-norm, it's often what is called a type of "prophetic dream". Not all prophetic dreams imply having seen the future, but can also signal many things.
Important messages from the subconscious on your life; which can serve to either guide you in your decision making or make you aware of an aspect of yourself that yearns to be recognized. And some prophetic dreams are also full of archetypal symbolism & are very much more like a broad spiritual experience than as a specific input on your life where it is now.
Yours seems more like it is trying to guide you into putting a new "foot forward" in your life. (As medkev put quite nicely!) And often our dreams will seek to scare us or creep us out in order to get us to look deeper at them or recall them with greater ease.
