Before I was diagnosed, it had never once occurred to me that not everyone's brain runs at warp speed 24/7!! I used to get so exasperated with my kids when I'd ask them what they were thinking and they'd say "nothing"; how can someone not be thinking about something? Even when I don't think I'm thinking, I'm still thinking.......and when I'm manic, the thoughts swirl madly through my head like squirrels in a cage and don't stop even when I sleep (which isn't often during the highs).
