I don't know why people think that your pregnancy or lack thereof is any of their business. It seems pretty universal though. I recently got married, got pregnant right away, but miscarried. This was very hard for me because it was a very wanted pregnancy. In the weeks after, I had more than one person ask me if I was pregnant yet, if I wanted kids, if I was going to get pregnant soon... It was like a knife to my heart. One person had noticed I was acting differently or something and asked me point blank if I was pregnant. I told her that I had been but wasn't anymore. I figured that it was a good reminder to her that she was asking about something highly personal and had no idea about some of the underlying things that might be going on.

People should know that the rule with regard to someone else's pregnancy status is "speak only when spoken to!"
