I too get very sensitive to sound and it makes me very irritable. Im dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. All the noice outside i.e. traffic or even wind blowing triggers me into a panic attack... Even my 6yr old can trigger me with her sounds and playing.
I find it best to use my ipod when I go for short walks to tune out all the sounds. Itīs good to listen to "singalong songs" coz it distracts you from the anxiety symptoms.
If the sounds bother me all day I try to play music, use earplugs or just avoid all that racket
