Before you actually need the help, look into what social services your community has to offer. Would you need help buying food or paying rent? Try to identify agencies that would help you with that, then. Identify what exactly it is you don't know how to do and try to get a grip on each thing: do you need a new resume? If you do and don't know how to do one, you could spend some time figuring that out. Do you need tips on interviewing for new jobs? The web has lots of suggestions for you to read about. Would you benefit from job training? Now is the time to seek out what your community offers, whether it costs and how to pay for it if it does. If you have not already, try to gather a network of other working friends who will help emotionally support you and pass along any job opportunities they hear about. Courage!
