No rumble here, agree or disagree or just not know, discussion is good imo.
With so many ppl on death row who don't belong there (an assumption, yes, but based upon the numerous incidents already discovered) I am tempted to think we need a moratorium on proceeding with the death penalty for a while.
This is a fine line to be drawn... this one about when disordered ppl need to be kept away from the rest of society. As it is now, it's not until you do perform some heinous crime, or threaten to do so (such as suicide or homocide) are you locked up and kept out of normal society.
What else can we as a society do? Certainly no one wants all disordered ppl to be locked up!
The husband, imo, in the Yates case, was also mentally unwell. He didn't go to jail because he didn't actually commit the crime. Yet, he certainly was involved and possibly "the motive." And the mother? Was she charged with failure to perform her expected duties, resulting in the deaths? No. Of course not.
Yes indeed, where do you draw the line?
