They actually did call the clients "inmates", back in the day, then they changed it to "trainees", then "students", and finally "clients", at this particular institution.

This is very sad.

It used to be common though to hide the mentally ill and mentally disabled people under the rug. Even today the mentally ill get swept under the rug. I mean how many of us hide it from bosses, family members, friends, co-works, etc... because even though they don't lock us up anymore, they still treat us like we're less somehow.
