I hate rumination!!! I suffered from rumination since I was a child. I still have some issues with rumination, but it is very rare for me. I wish I could give you some wonderful behavioral tip, but honestly my rumination decreased by almost 90% instantly when I started antidepressants. I know that isn't the solution for everyone but it helped me with this problem quite a bit.
Another thing that is suppose to help with rumination (I use it more to get out of my negative forecasting) is meditation.
I feel for the discomfort you must be feeling. Hang in there.
