Ah lucidity - the answer to all of dream's unsolved problems ;P
Violence is simply the subconscious image for conflict. There is a fear for the child part of your personality. Depending on how young your daughter is, this could either be a need for being nurtured (infant through toddler), or simply the carefree innocence as a child unawares regarding the stresses and troubles of adulthood. That it was your daughter could either be because your daughter was actually making noise and your subconscious picked up on it and/or that your daughter relates in your mind to yourself as a child. Chances are a little of both.
What catches my attention is the inability for you to fully identify the threat. In the first part, your vision was clouded with fog. You were panicked and fumbling around. In the second part you were simple describing the threat as a "dark figure". Who or what is this figure and where have you seen the same traits and oppression come up in your waking life?
