my old therapist talked to me about the importance of resilience... at first it made me mad... she was saying resilience is key to surviving... saying why some siblings from the same home might experience the same things, like abuse or instability, differently and one might grow up fine, another might end up an addict.. made me feel like, ok so my son who became an addict is defective in the resilience department? that hurt i didnt like it.

but then she explained resilience can be worked as a skill...and it made sense. but someone like my son has to want to get better for it to work
