I guess we are, and thank God for answering machines! The last job I had required me to be on the phone a LOT and I grew to hate my cell phone! I'm a doer and not a talker! I personally think phones are pretty intrusive. Great tools, but intrusive. I would much rather speak to someone in person, and I do like socializing, but much more on my terms. It's funny that men are generally more averse to phone conversation. I suppose it's because we are so visually oriented, it's more comfortable for us to see who we're talking to. In your case, it's probably one of the less bothersome phobias. Have you always felt that way about it?
