I see T every other week primarily due to busy schedule when I first started talking to her. I was doing 38 hours of work and six hours of school. I reduced it to 30 hours of work (minimum for insursance) and six hours at school. So, we have kept up that routine. My T seems to be flexible in that she lets you decide on the frequency of visits. I think she wishes I'd talk more frequently with her sometimes. Other times, she messes up the schedule with vacation or sickness. I hate going for a whole month with my t time. AAAAAAAAA! I miss her so much when that happens. This is the main disadvantage in my opinion of going once every other week. If one appoinment is missed by you or her, the misery gets worse! I find it sometimes takes me a little more than a week to come up with an adgenda of what I want to talk about.
Secondly, I agree with the above posting that frequency/length of time in therapy is not the greatest way to evaluate where you are. I'd suggest that you look for progress towards your goals and a reduction in symptoms.
