Oh yeah, there is the thing that you usually do hit a plateau in how much you need. Depending on the drug your dosage may fluxuate after plateauing.

Thank you JR for pointing that bit out and reminding me of that. You were right - tolerance is not universal, and even when it does happen, it typically halts at some point (the plateau).
