I've been busy and haven't kept up with the latest threads, and I haven't read most of the posts in this thread, but I just wanted to jump in with a comment. If this has been mentioned, I apologize for repeating. I just don't have enough time to read through everything at this moment.

I signed the petition a while back and did a little investigating myself. One of the things I understand these companies are trying to do is, make it so, even if you have a high-speed connection, you can only access their sites at a high speed, and other sites (such as charities) would be considerably slower to access. I'm just mentioning this, in case you didn't know.

I also know AOL wants to let (or is already letting) companies pay to bypass spam settings, so you can't filter them out.
