I learned I have an 80 year old cat-hating neighbor. My cats love to go outside periodically, and so I've talked to her explaining this, telling her to use a spray bottle to scare them away. I gave her a hug and we were friendly. I hope she doesn't harm them! I can't imagine anyone hating my cats!
