Is it really hot where you are? Because I find that when it's REALLY hot out and humid, I retain water. Also, around that not so fun time of the month. Sometimes I gain 5 lbs of water weight a month, then it goes away once "my friend" comes.

Also, I would wonder about the thyroid thing too if you're eating right and exercising and gaining weight anyway. This happened to me several years back and I kept on telling the doctor's to test me. One finally did, and sure enough my thyroid was sluggish. I got onto meds and the weight just dropped right back off.
Also, I have considered the herbal weight loss products myself, but have yet to see any without caffeine or stimulants. I am already over stimulated enough, and I can't handle caffeine! I agree that the best way is slow and steady, but I know what you mean about wanting it gone asap. Hope you find a solution! Take care.
