9874, to be honest, the feeling of vulnerability is natural for anyone, and accepting that does help alot, and by seeking proffesional help will be beneficial in the long run.
As humans, we all get "helpless" and "vulnerable" quite often in our lives, its part of life itself, it is impossible to go through life without these feelings. the thing i would suggest you do, in my opinion, is to go to a proffesional therapist/councillor and say to them how you are feeling, that you are scared etc, and they will help you progress from being afraid to being at ease with it.
Some things in life are better with help from others, it can be more fun, so dont look at needing help (with your family etc) as a bad thing, which will show your vulnerability, because it isnt.
