Hi,

I'm interested in trying out a higher dose of Adderall XR. I won't see my psychiatrist for a little while, though. I have a 20mg prescription, and I have taken 25mg, and both help but not enough. I'm wondering, is taking two 20mg pills the same as taking one 40mg pill?

Thanks

Hello!

Yes, taking 2 - 20mg capsules of Adderall XR is = to 1 - 40mg capsule of Adderall XR. Now, when taking about the IM (immediate release) form compared the the XR (extended released) form - that's a little different.

Hope this helps - and I'd suggest talking with your doctor first before making any adjustments to your meds.
