I have found that working with pain is the same process as working with other types of memories....talking with my therapist, writing about it, acknowledging its there, breathing exercises, grounding. sometime ice or heat packs, asking myself (or inside if I was having this problem before I was integrated) to find out what I needed to do to make myself, those with in, the physical body to feel better.

some forms of therapy also address body memories, body pain, such as EMDR, DBT, CBTany therapy that addresses how a person behaves when under stress, anxiety, pain and whatever for things like PTSD, Depression and others, can be done to address trauma related issues like body memories and body pain. talk with your treatment provider.

there are many great books that talk about body memories, body pain such as here at the crisis center we use the book "the courage to heal" not only does it have lots of information and things you can do but it also has a section for resources so you can check out other books and resources too.

there is also many great resources in a thread by Doc John and members of psych central. you might also find something there too. http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=71992
