I deal with chronic depression and generalized/social anxiety.
Right now my biggest problem at work involves the mornings of 1-3 shifts a month. I work about 15 shifts and take call about 6 nights and one full weekend. So it's a very small percentage of the total hours. The mornings are heavily booked and you often twiddle your thumbs in the afternoon.
I'm in Canada where the laws are similar to the US in some respects. I also work in a hospital where you would think you find some understanding.
My doctor is great, she wants to support me but often doesn't know how. I'm worried that I'd be doing myself a disservice by asking for accomodation rather than figuring out how to work with what I've got. I'm a bit of a perfectionist with black and white thinking!
