I personally use my tools (the ignore / block button) and while that may keep me from receiving unwanted PM - it does not stop unwanted post, for rather I can see them or not.... other members still have to be exposed to them.

Big Sigh!!......... so IMHO the button is not the solution here, ACCEPTANCE of ALL is.
