I'm feeling kind of sad about this, but it was a necessary move. I sold my pedal harp today. I got a good price for it, and I didn't have to wait to find a buyer. I'm selling it to another student's family from my harp teacher's studio. I know the young woman it's going to and she's much better than I am. She's at the point in her playing where she needs a pedal harp if she's going to continue, whereas it was a nice to have for me. I can be perfectly happy playing on my celtic harp for a few years.
I get much needed cash that will let me pay back my friends who loaned me money to help with my move, pay my second semester tuition, and supplement my pension withdrawals. And they get a really good harp, a few thousand cheaper than brand new, they save on shipping and taxes, plus they don't have to wait 6 months to have one built.
I'm sad to lose my harp but at least I know it's going to a good home, where it will be played and loved.
