I have quite the opposite case. My daughter was also big - 9 pounds, born a tad early but with gestational age of 41 1/2 weeks. But now, she is the shortest kid in the classroom! Always has been, throughout elementary and middle school. And she is doing gymnastics - THE sport for short girls with athletic build. My former MIL is very short, so probably the short genes are coming from her.
I cannot even begin to imagine a 33 hour labor! I have had short labors - several hours and I was done. But there were pretty intense moments during those short hours!
