If it's your regular physician that you're talking about, be careful and be sure to see a psychiatrist.
My regular MD gave me anti-depressants, even after I told her I had been diagnosed many years before I started seeing her, and that's what threw me into my most recent hypomanic episode, which lasted for several months.
When I read your original post, you referred to "pdoc." I'm fairly new here and guessing "pdoc" is psychiatrist, although that had me confused at first because a psychologist or a Psy. D. are officially "docs" as well, and you could throw a "p" in front of either of those to also call them a "pdoc."
