Group T and support groups are not the same. And there are different types of group therapies as well. My group therapy is gestalt-based, so it's a "process oriented" group that's quite different from the idea of a typical support group.
Groups are typically run by a T or a facilitator of some kind.
I became involved in group T at the suggestion of my T who also runs the group.
I pay $40/session for group T....which is much less than what a typical individual T session would be in my area. I see my T individually once a week as well, though.
