one of my most favourite jobs ever was being a patient advocate in a triage center ER........i already knew ALOT about the medical side and learned ALOT about the patient side there. you have to have an advocate with you or they will KILL you.

...friend of mine had life-threatening car wreck. 80 stitches on his forehead and his jaw was broken and larynx smashed.i slept in his room. consulting doc came in and told him that all of his surgery could be done out-patient. told him to drive from OKC to Austin and come back.......

that doctor and i had a heart to heart in the hall that he probably still hasn't forgotten......he almost scared my friend to death by telling him that. and he was only a consulting! he didn't even have the power to dismiss this patient....if i had not been there, all sorts of hell would have broken loose and happened......stay close to your loved ones in a hospital......

bill isn't out of the woods. meds have to work.....cross all extremities.......p
