This week I have had a terrible mixed episode and I just cannot get things done or function properly and missed some of my classes. Even though I had so much trouble getting to sleep tuesday night, I was determined to try my best to make it to class wednesday cause I had an exam (that I could hardly study for) in my art history class. Well I overslept and got there 30 minutes late.

When I got to the classroom, I apologized for being late and said I would get a note from my doctor (my pdoc or T) as to why, and he just said "Yeah you are REALLY late." So he handed me the test and I went to go sit down.

Well part of my disability, aside from mental illness, is my obesity because of the meds I'm on. I am registered with disability services on campus and set up to have a table and chair in each classroom cause I cannot fit into the desks.

So when I went to sit in my table and chair (which is clearly marked "Use by persons registered with disability only") someone was sitting in it. I didn't know what to do except to tell them kindly, that seat is for people with disabilities and I am set up to have that seat reserved for me. So he was really nice and apologized and moved to another seat.

Well, the teacher saw it. And he went up to me and said, "I need a word with you." so I got up and kinda half way out the door is where we talked. He asked me why I made that guy move, and I told him, I am registered with disability and thats my seat, otherwise I Have nowhere to sit. He asked "Is part of your disability that you're overweight?" and I said yes but also mental illness. Then he left and I went back to my chair. I did really bad on the test because of feeling humiliated and distracted, plus it was hard for me to study cause my mixed episode.

After everyone was done with the exam he told us to come to the front and give their exams to him. Once I got up there I handed him mine, and I told him "I have a note from my doctor to excuse my absence on monday." and tried to show it to him, but he wouldn't look at it, and he raised his voice and said "I am going to need to see some documentation for your disability by monday!" IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS.

1. He doesn't need to see documentation, that is for the disability coordinator Only

2. He embarrassed me in front of the whole class, and let everyone know that I have a disability

3. He wouldn't even look at my note excusing my absence monday

I went to my disability coordinator after this class and bawled my eyes out, telling him everything the teacher did and said to me. He said he is going to talk to the teacher. He even asked me how I felt about going back to the class (as in continuing the class). At this point I'm not even sure, but if I dropped the class, my status would go to part time student and my grant money would change, meaning I would have to pay back a lot of money I already used.

I am sooo upset and embarrassed and angry. I can't sleep tonight, it keeps running through my head
