For me, there is a difference, but not sure that craving is bad all the time.

Wanting is normal... day to day desires... etc.. sometimes we do want things that are not good for us, and if it's "only" a want, we can control ourselves and determine if it's worth it.

Craving is the stronger wanting, imo. It's an intense desire... and can be a good thing to have to draw something into your life that you do want and maybe need. It's when it's part of a disorder, trying to replace unhappiness with things... a compulsive desire... that it can be negative, imo.
