MMD- that is a great idea.
Thank you notes are a good way to keep you fresh in the hiring manager's (hr, whatever) mind. I do some hiring in my current role and I always appreciate that gesture, if the candidate was a good possibility in the first place, I kinda tend to give brownie points for a thank you note/email. I personally prefer the paper note because I think it shows that I was worth the ink and stamp.
