I'm sorry too that you're going through this struggle wtih people in your life not understanding. But your health IS important, and mental health just as or more so than physical health since sometimes our mental health can lead to physical issues. I probably said that badly, sorry if I did. But I do understand the reality of financial problems, as I just got through a year and a half long process of bankruptcy that included losing our home, it was emotionally draining and very stressful etc etc etc I won't bore anyone further with that, but thankfully my husband understands enough that he didn't try to stop me from going to therapy weekly. I would have seriously lost it if I had not been able to see my t every week and I'm not even kidding a little bit on that. She kept me grounded during the worst of it.
All that was to say I agree wtih CE "you're an adult, spend your money (such as it is) any way you please." and with everybody else that you're so right that people who haven't been in therapy really can't understand why we feel it is so important.
I wish all the best for you.
