I take 75 mg. for sleep and it hasn't lost effectiveness for me. I was started out at 300 mg. about 4 1/2 years ago, which was much too high for me, and I've been on 75 now for about 1 1/2 years and it works fine, usually (unless I'm too stressed about something, then not much works).
