My desktop computer recognizes my PC name and then puts in my password, so I can get on PC. But my laptop won't recognize my PC name, even though it indicates it knows my password. Alas, after two years I don't remember my password, so I can't go to another laptop we have. And I want to keep my name. Any ideas or suggestions?

I really need to stay in the back of the house with a laptop, since I'm having trouble getting around and the desktop computer is far away in the den.

BTW, I had requested my password before, and I never heard anything back!
