I experience frequent mild headaches and mild stomach distress, though I cannot tell if these are due to the depression itself or to my meds.

I agree. If one has a depression diagnosis, it's tempting -- even to doctors -- to view all symptoms through that diagnosis, but the symptoms could be unrelated.

mastered the "fetch" command. He would communicate he wanted something, and I would fetch it.
