I farm, and I chase storms. Snow storms or tornadoes, It doesn't matter. I have seen over 25 tornadoes and funnels, and the closest I have been to a tornado is the dust-debri cloud. Once, I looked directly up into a funnel. One tornado was powerful enough to rip up the asphalt from a highway. The sound of the storms is awesome, like several Niagra Falls. Lightning feeder channels have passed through me. It feels like touching a power mower spark plug. Probably, I need my head examined for taking such chances.

Right now, our crops are dying because of a two year drought. We raise corn and soy beans, and combine season is usually in late September. This year, it may be August if we don't get more rain and cooler weather.
