Hi Denny244 - i agree that it is most likely a contraceptive device which is causing the issue, definately talk about it with her so that hopefully the situation can be improved. The walls of the vagina are quite rough although sufficient lubrication usually relieves any discomfort - could it possibly be an issue with your foreskin which is causing the sensation of sharp pain? Communication in this situation is key - no one wants to have less sex due to discomfort if the matter can be resolved. All the best.
