I am in a living transition facility for Veterans (yes, I am a veteran) who are waiting for permanent housing. This facility also provides services for drug and alcohol rehabilitation (I am not part of that program).

I am having a lot of problems with my anger while I am here. I get irritated by loud noises and well, it's really loud here. There is a rule here that says no rough play and no screaming down the hall. As I type this, it's extra hard to focus on what I am writing as even with the door shut, I hear lots of screaming down the hall. Even in my room I hear it.

I am also having a lot of problems being able to keep my scheduled appointments. I turned in a paper to my caseworker saying I needed to be off site (yes, I have to get permission to be off site...I am 50 years old) for a doctor's appointment...she scheduled a meeting I needed to attend at the same time my doctor's appointment was... I had to reschedule the doctor's appoinment on 2 hours notice. She wasn't suppose to do that. You do not schedule a meeting about the facilities rules over a doctor's appointment I informed my caseworker about in writing 2 days earlier.

And during this meeting I attended, it was about smoking of all things. That we can't smoke on site, we can't smoke at the city bus stop (I think they are being dishonest about this because the bus company doesn't have a problem with smoking at their bus stops. They said the convenience store down the road has complained about their client's smoking there (I talked to the manager of the convenience store who has been the manager there for 9 years) and never had a problem with the clients here smoking in their parking lot. Was told all the businesses around here were complaining about this facilities clients smoking on or near their business. Can't smoke on the sidewalk. Also have to turn in a slip for permission for an outling to go smoke. And I had to reschedule a t appointment for this?!

I can't find staff when I need them. I have to go search for them and they are usually with the babies of the teenage mothers who live here.

Granted I am a week or 2 away from getting my new place, but this place is just driving me nuts. I am turning in a lot of requests for outings (most days, everyday to able to work around this).

I am starting to get a bit of an attitude and nowhere to express it really (I guess I would have to request an outing for that I guess.

Any advise to a fellow bipolar person on how to deal with this?
