I'm 52 years old & have 2 grown children (30 yr.-old lawyer in Dallas & 27 yr.-old engineer in San Francisco, but he is moving to Argentina in a month!). I work part-time in the billing dept. at a tennis club (spend all my time on a computer there). My husband & I travel a lot. We have a 2nd home in AZ so we go there one week a month (We live in Indiana) & do a lot of hiking. We also visit our "kids" frequently.
I co-lead a support group as a volunteer at the women's jail once a week & go to 2 support groups that meet monthly as well (through DBSA & mental health assoc.). I was diagnosed with bp about 4 yrs. ago, maybe 5 by now, & haven't been sleeping much since April so I read A LOT from around 2:30am-6:30am when my husband gets up. I journal & exercise a lot (DVD's, stairmaster & treadmill that we have at home) to help keep my mood up. In the winter I also add sitting under a full-spectrum light. Plus all the wonderful meds.
I'm kinda isolated from other people. When I was really ill, I stayed home & avoided any contact with people except my immediate family (poor guys!). I now feel that I lack social skills & am pretty lonely. I do enjoy the support groups where other people are "in the same boat" & I can learn from them & offer encouragement.
I do the normal housework, etc. that is necessary for daily life.
Off the subject, I'm pretty new at computers. What does IRL mean? Here in Indy it has to do with car racing (Indy Racing League). I don't think that's what it means in pc!
