I agree that there is more than one use for the smilies and what we want for them to say.
LOL. I said that once about hubby, "I'm with stupid," then stopped and thought, "well what the heck does that say for me???" LOL. I think it's more a personal statment, and for fun. Like once I was joking with daughter and starting walking out the "in" door. Well, my daughter had a friend with her and said, "Mom, you're an idiot (don't jump...she meant it funny and it's common for kids these days)" Well, I said, "HAHA, dear daughter. I'd rather be the idiot than whatever the person is called FOLLOWING the idiot!" She was trying to be funny in front of her friend and boy did her friend laugh then! LOL.
I think it's fun in the many ways it could be used, and used for that. However, almost anything has the potential for harm, etc. For instance, tylenol is a great drug, as is asprin. They can be used to harm as well...
I guess I'm saying once again...It's all up to us.
