I'm getting married in two weeks, and I am still really conflicted about changing my name. I've had it for thirty-some odd years, and I see it as being strongly connected to who I am. I've been through a lot as Mollie May Smith (not real name, of course), and I'm proud of that. I'm not sure how to be Mollie May Johnson. Who is she? So I guess what I'm saying is I get where you're coming from. Also, in lieu of writing my own vows from scratch, I did what MommaR suggests: I just modified something I liked and made it a bit more personal--way less pressure.
